The First Meeting of the Expert Panel for the "CAMPUS Asia Common Quality Assurance Standards Project"

The first meeting of the Expert Panel for the "CAMPUS Asia Common Quality Assurance Standards Project" was held at the Takebashi Office of NIAD-QE on May 25, 2023.

This panel was established to obtain expert knowledge and insights on the development of the "Common Quality Assurance Standards (preliminary draft)." The panel members consist of experts from universities in Japan and faculty members from NIAD-QE who are familiar with international student exchange programs and their quality assurance.

In this first meeting, NIAD-QE introduced an overview of the entire project with the set of the "Standards (preliminary draft)" which was prepared by NIAD-QE with the input from quality assurance agencies in China and Korea. The panel members exchanged views and opinions on each criterion of the "Standards (preliminary draft)," along with the future actions of the project.

During the discussion, the panel acknowledged the importance of a framework for quality assurance in the broader Asian region. Moreover, insights based on their specialized knowledge and extensive practical experiences were shared regarding the elements of the "Standards (preliminary draft)," such as the balance of student mobilities, risk management, and interactions with local communities.

Finally, the panel confirmed that NIAD-QE will further promote the development of the "Standards (preliminary draft)" based on the comments and suggestions provided at this meeting.
